My name is LaRona, and I’m a homeschool mom, living in North East Texas. I am God’s appointed help meet to my husband, who affectionately calls me Ronna Momma.

My husband and I made a decision to homeschool our children in 2004. We knew that it was God’s Will for our lives, and that things were going to have to change drastically to make it possible. I quit my job, and immediately our income dropped from six figures to half as much. That meant downsizing everything from our home to our egos! We moved from a two-story 2800 sq. ft. home to one with only 1216 sq. ft. You can imagine the stuff I had to get rid of!

I became a frugal shopper: hitting the sales, checking the clearance isles, and buying resale. I was doing all I knew to do to cut corners, and thought I was doing well, but here was another world of savings out there that I didn’t even know existed: coupons! I thought coupons meant only nominal saving on products that were too expensive anyway and that it was cheaper, and plain easier to buy generic.

Was I ever wrong! I began using coupons in earnest and now average a savings of $400-$500 dollars a month. Talk about reforming my budget!  Not only am I saving money, but my cabinets are filled to overflowing! Couponing allows me to keep more of what my husband works hard to make. That’s one of my jobs as his Help Meet: to help make ends meet!

Through all of our downsizing, the one thing that has increased is our desire to give more. My frequent prayer is that God will make me a good steward of my time, energy, money and resources so that I will have more to give. One way that God has answered my prayers in through couponing.

I want my site to be more that just another coupon blog. I want to be an encouragement to others as they learn to live frugally, and to give more. The deals that I post will be specific to the the Ark-La-Tex area. As I am still new to couponing myself, I suspect we may be learning together. Comments and Feedback are muchly appreciated!
